Revlon's Colorburst Matte & Lacquer Balms Review

Hello my lovely folloowers! Its nice to talk to you again :)

Today I have a little review for you all. Yay! I hear you scream, its been a while I know. Beauty reviews are one of the biggest reasons I started this blog (although being a mummy has become a big part of everything!), so its only right that I do more of them. Without further ado, here is my opinion on the relatively new (notice I said relatively tehe) Revlon colorburst matte and lacquer balms.

Lets start with packaging! I love how the matte balms have a matte texture and the lacquers have a shiny, smooth surface. Super cute idea Revlon! They are also the perfect size to pack into your make-up bag, we go on so many travels together me and my balms.

The matte balms are my favourite of the two textures, they are ridiculously vibrant on the lips, and they give my lips such an uplift on dull and gloomy days. I actually didn't notice the tingly sensation when I first applied them, its quite weird and unexpected. Its like when your brushing your teeth with minty toothpaste, and the residue stays on your lips for what feels like FOREVER. Don't let that put you of though, it doesn't last for long. The consistency is smooth, and they glide onto the lips like butter. I find them much more moisturising than most other matte lipsticks I've tried from the drugstore (*cough* Kate moss), sadly i'm a slave to dry lips. I picked up two shades in matte, mischievous an orangey toned coral, the sought of colour I imagine a mermaid would wear, and unapologetic a blinding hot pink, which I still wear daily, despite comments its too bright, I love it! I bet you can guess which colour is my favourite, as its the most worn down. On average they last around 2-3 hours on the lips, though unapologetic lasted a lot longer, plus it stains as you can tell from the last photo. It was a bugger to remove let me tell you.

Though its not my favourite, I am still in lurrv with my lacquer balms. They are much like the matte balms, though ten times more moisturising, and obviously they give a beautiful sheen. These don't last as long unfortunately, but I still do wear mine, just because they are easy and hassle free (you find that a lot when you've got children). They do have a teensy bit of glitter, but who doesn't love a bit of sparkle every now and again? I have the shade demure. I wear it whenever I want a little bit of colour on the lips, but don't want to go too overboard. Its A nice all-round everyday shade.

All in all, lovely lip products, which are well worth the price. They sell lacquers in Superdrug for £5.99 and the matte balms in Boots for £7.99. Look out for three for two offers as they are quite common, in boots stores especially.

Have a good day guys, I've just noticed my lips are in desperate need of a full on waxing sesh, typical!

Have you tried the Revlon Colorburst balms?
